Sécurité de l’information des réseaux LPWAN

Découvrez la sécurité de l'information dans les réseaux LPWAN et les solutions ROSSMA IIOT-AMS.

One of the concerns about LPWAN (Low-power wide-area network) networks that we often hear from customers who are about to deploy our equipment for the first time is the concern that LPWAN networks typically operate in the unlicensed 868 MHz band and therefore can be easily jammed by attackers or experience interference from uncontrolled radio sources. However, “unlicensed” spectrum is by no means synonymous with “anything goes” — for any transmitter, according to GRFC Decision No. 07-20-03-001 dated 07.05.2007, there are restrictions, firstly on radiated power (on most channels — no more than 25 mW), and secondly on airtime (as a rule, no more than 1%). Speaking of the LoRa protocol, it uses special mechanisms to enhance radio reception stability. The use of radio signals with linear frequency modulation (LFM) allows reliable reception of information below the noise level and practically eliminates the influence of narrowband interference on the signal-to-noise ratio.

It should be particularly noted that in the Russian Federation in 2024, a GOST standard for LoRaWAN technology was approved: GOST R 71168-2023. Therefore, all devices manufactured by our company strictly comply with the requirements of this regulatory document. Regarding the protection of transmitted information and data integrity verification during transmission over the radio interface in the IoT LoRaWAN network, a multi-level security system is provided…
