Battery Plus
Battery Plus is the latest battery system featuring a solar charging and monitoring system. It is specifically designed for RAK base stations. It ensures reliable outdoor gateway deployment in remote autonomous conditions where power supply is unstable or unavailable.

- Long service life – The lithium iron phosphate battery can last over 10 years when charged and discharged once daily at room temperature (25°C).
- Integrated heating function — the battery is equipped with a solar charger and heater, can be connected directly to PV panels and charged at temperatures below 0°C.
- Lightweight design — RAK9155 weighs no more than 8 kg, allowing single-person installation.
- High waterproof rating — RAK9155 housing has IP65 protection, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
- Dual PV inputs — one mandatory for the main solar panel and one optional for a second panel, ideal for high-altitude or low-sunlight areas.

The solar panel is based on monocrystalline solar cells with an expected service life of over 25 years. The solar panel generates maximum energy when sunlight falls perpendicular to its surface. Proper orientation and tilt of the solar panel, combined with maximum sunlight intensity and duration, ensure peak power generation.
