Installation Requirements

  1. Height: 6–10 m recommended for optimal coverage
  2. Orientation: LoRa antenna pointing vertically
  3. Power: PoE injector or 12V DC source
  4. Network: Cat5e/Cat6 Ethernet cable

Mounting Procedure

  1. Select installation location with good line of sight
  2. Install bracket on pole or wall
  3. Attach gateway to bracket
  4. Connect LoRa antenna to N-Type connector
  5. Connect Ethernet cable with PoE
  6. Insert SIM card (if using LTE)
  7. Verify indication and operation

Tip: When using autonomous power, connect gateway to Battery Plus instead of PoE.

The RAK7289CV2 WisGate Edge Pro gateway concentrator is one of the best RAKwireless products, designed for commercial IoT deployment in outdoor environments, built from industrial-grade components ensuring high reliability and device stability. The RAK7289 WisGate Edge Pro gateway supports up to 16 LoRa channels, multi-channel backhaul via Ethernet and Wi-Fi, including cellular connectivity. Optionally, a dedicated port is provided for various power options with full integration of the RAK Battery Plus autonomous green energy solution. The completely new design allows LTE, Wi-Fi, and GPS antennas to be placed directly inside the housing.

The LoRa RAK7289CV2 WisGate Edge Pro gateway provides a unified ready-to-deploy solution. The LoRa concentrator software and its user interface have been updated to WisGateOS 2, based on the latest OpenWRT kernel with new IPv6 and OpenSSL 1.1 security additions, multi-account access, and much more. Remote gateway maintenance is available through the WisDM platform. The user-friendly WisGateOS 2 web interface looks somewhat different and contains much more information in tooltips.
