Frequently asked questions about level sensors

What level measurement methods does ROSSMA support?
ROSSMA modules work with any 4-20 mA level transmitter: hydrostatic (submersible), ultrasonic, radar, capacitive, and float. The Level Meter Kit includes a submersible hydrostatic sensor.
What types of tanks are compatible?
Any type: vertical and horizontal steel tanks, underground vessels, open reservoirs, wells, and boreholes. Maximum submersible sensor depth is up to 100 m.
What is the level measurement accuracy?
Accuracy depends on the connected level transmitter. Hydrostatic sensors provide ±0.1% FS, ultrasonic — ±0.25%. ROSSMA modules transmit data without any accuracy loss from the original sensor.
Can you measure levels of corrosive liquids?
Yes. Use transmitters with chemically resistant membranes (PVDF, ceramic, tantalum) and connect via Analog Ex modules. Ex d protection allows working with flammable liquids and acids.
How is liquid volume calculated in a tank?
NETS.HMI automatically converts level to volume using the tank calibration table. Supported geometries: vertical cylinder, horizontal cylinder, sphere, and custom tables.
How far can the signal reach without repeaters?
LoRaWAN range is up to 15 km in open terrain and 2-5 km in urban areas. MeshSens uses a Sub-GHz mesh network with automatic relay between nodes.
Can the sensors be used for flood monitoring?
Yes. LoRaWAN level sensors are installed on rivers, canals, and reservoirs for early flood warning. Up to 10 years battery life allows deployment in remote locations without power supply.
