Frequently asked questions about gas detectors

What gases do ROSSMA devices detect?
Main list: methane (CH4), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), carbon monoxide (CO). Sensor type (electrochemical or catalytic) is selected at order based on the application.
How often is gas analyzer calibration required?
Recommended calibration interval is 6-12 months depending on operating conditions. Calibration is performed with a certified test gas mixture without dismounting the device.
What is the sensor lifespan?
Electrochemical sensors (H2S, CO): 2-3 years. Catalytic sensors (CH4): 3-5 years. Sensor replacement is a routine procedure.
What are the alarm thresholds?
Configurable per application. Typical: CH4 — 10% and 20% LEL, H2S — 10 and 20 mg/m3, CO — 20 and 100 mg/m3. Three-level alarm supported: warning, alarm, emergency.
Can they be used in coal mines?
Yes. ROSSMA gas analyzers have Ex d explosion protection with mining certification. Certified for gas- and dust-hazardous mines.
How far can the signal reach?
LoRaWAN range is up to 15 km in open terrain. MeshSens uses a Sub-GHz mesh network with automatic relay, enabling coverage of complex underground facilities.
Are the devices compatible with existing safety systems?
Yes. The NETS base station supports Modbus TCP/RTU, MQTT, REST API. Integration with SCADA, fire alarm systems, and emergency notification systems is available.
